Period 1 & 2 Science

Objective:  Students will investigate the Law of Superposition, Relative Dating, and Absolute Dating.

Warm Up:  Definition of terms.

Objective:  Students will solve math problems using operations with integers.

Correct:  Lesson 1.4 Examples, On Your Own #1 - 13, pages 24 - 25.
           Exercises # 2 - 36 the even numbered  problems, page 26.

    Review the Star Qualities for a Top 20 person.
    Journal Entry:  Select 3 Star Qualities that you want to 
        focus on this year.  Enter them in your Journal

Period 1 & 2 Science

Objective:  Students will create a flow chart that represents the Geologic Time Scale including eons, eras, periods, and epochs.
   
Finish:      Measuring Time Activity.  
       Watch the video:  Geologic Time Scale
       Use what you learned in the video to create your own flow chart of the different time eons, eras, periods, and epochs.  List important events and fossil findings for each measure of time.

The Geologic Time Scale Lab Report.  This was due on Wednesday.

Objective:  Students will create a timeline of Earth History and learn about major changes to Earth and life through time. 
   
Finish:     Lab:  The Geologic Time Scale
      Create a geologic timeline with significant events dating 4.6 billion years ago.  

Activity:    The Geologic Time Scale Lab Report
      Select this link, make a copy to your G-Drive.

      Complete the Lab Report and share it with Mr. Pulliam.  It will be due        by the end of the period on Wednesday.

Homework:   The Vocab assignment should be completed sometime this week.  The essay should be completed by the end of the day Monday.  I gave extra time for this because some were taking longer to complete the MAPS than I expected.  You will have time on Monday to work on your essays.
